Targeted Prayer

You know a great way to pray? Ask God what you should pray for. That was a revelation to me when I heard it a few years ago. It never occurred to me to ask God how to pray. I thought that I just prayed, He heard my prayers, and that was that. It turns out that there really is an "effective" way to pray.

Try this for the things that you have been praying for but haven't seen answered. Ask God to tell you how to pray, then wait for that answer. Remember that the timing with God is His time not yours, so it may be something that you hear about right away, or it may be a week later. Keep you ears open to hear Him in His language, which is not always in words. If something in an overheard conversation makes you stand up and listen, it may be God talking to you. Just pay attention. Then what ever it is that you hear, do it! He may have you pray for a root issue that you didn't know about. He knows the key, wouldn't be great if you knew it too?
