God can help you do what ever it is that you do- drive trucks, paint houses, teach, design software, raise cows... These are not things that are foreign to Him. He knows all about it. Want to be better doing what you do? Ask for wisdom. There are 213 mentions of wisdom in the Bible. Wisdom is principle to growing in the Lord and asking for wisdom is critical. Just read through Proverbs and see how much God wants to give wisdom away. He wants to, but He waits for us to ask. Just think how much easier you life would be if you let God give you instruction for doing what you do. He would give you insights that you could not discover yourself. Those insights are reserved for those who ask for them.
When God gave out the directions for building the tabernacle in the desert, He was very precise about how things should look and who should be involved. "And the women whose hearts stirred with wisdom spun yearn of goats' hair." Ex 35:26. I love that. He puts wisdom inside of us to do the things that we need to do. He expects that wise men will lead and teach. He expects that those who are gifted in crafts will make great things. He's there in the details of what needs to be done.
Stuck on that idea that just won't work right? Can't come up with the right plan? Making something that's turning out so-so? Ask God for wisdom and let Him give you revelation. The light will come on. The inspiration will come. You'll get an excitement about what you need to do because the gifts from Heaven will touch your spirit. It will feel right! Then keep asking. He may have just given you the first phase. You need to keep going back and asking for more. It will develop your relationship with Him, which is what He's really after.
