God's Calling Card

How many sunsets did you watch last year? How many times did you stare into the night sky? How many hummingbirds stole your attention? When you look at those things and think, "How pretty," do you remember God? Do you remember the Creator behind the creation? Easy to forget, but wonderful to remember.

We always complain that we forget God in the daily stuff because we're so busy. We almost need allotted times for God and for The Rest Of The Stuff. Remembering the presence of God in everything helps to hear Him better. When you have a chat with Him about why moths are attracted to porch lights, you may get more than you expected back from Him. How cool is that?

The incredible diversity of creation is mind-blowing and I have to think the reason is because God is just incredibly fond of making things different. There are just too many ways to color a fish. But I also think He makes His creations amazing to get our attention. It's one of His calling cards. He's saying, "Hey, I love this monkey with the fluffy hair, don't you?" Even as I type on this computer, I get amazed at electrons and digitized files. Yes, people came up with the technology, but God came up with the physics. The things that God made are all reasons for us to talk to Him so He made many, many reasons. He just loves it when we talk to Him.

It's just all so cool. Put on your little kid hat and start looking at your world as a way of seeing God all around you. He's there and there and there, and when I see a sunset I know that He likes it too, or He wouldn't have made it that way.
