I thought about this and how it would affect the way I think. If I do everything in my life for God, then it shouldn't matter how "successful" my actions are to everyone else. If what I do has meaning to God, then it doesn't matter what other people think. That's wonderful. It takes a lot of stress off of performance. It would be really hard for perfectionists to deal with, but the rest of us can celebrate.
Lots of times we hear God's direction to do something that just doesn't make any sense. That's because we're thinking of ourselves when we do it. If we put that down and do it for God, it doesn't matter how it turns out. Chances are, there's a very important reason for doing it that we're not clued into. Doing every thing for God makes it easy to let things come to completion in His timing.
On top of that, if everything you do is done for God, then you make Him a part of your entire day. You begin to develop an attitude of having His presence with you always. Yes, He's always with you anyway, but it would be good to realise it all the time. What an awesome thing! That would make you whistle while you work : )
