Spoiled And Loving It

My sister can be very, very smug sometimes. When ever someone talks about God not having favorites in His family, she always leans over and says, "But I know that I'm His favorite." And if you look at her life, you might think that she's right. She does seem to get her prayers answered consistently.
Now, I've heard her talk like this for years, but it just occurred to me (yes, I am slow) that she's on to something. If I take the attitude that I am God's favorite, then I begin to think that He and I have a special relationship and He will listen to me more than He will listen to other people. And the truth is, it's ok to think that way because God has the ability to make each of us His favorite, in all seriousness.

Think about what it would be like being God's favorite child. How He would dote on you and listen to everything you said and coo at everything you do. And if you looked at Him with those big eyes and ask Him for something in prayer, wouldn't He just love to do it for you? Well, that's exactly how He relates to each of us, without cheating anyone. He's God. He can do that.

So put on your princess (or prince) hat and prepare to be spoiled. God will enjoy it as much as you will.
