Are you a Christian? Do you know who you are? I know it sounds like a goofy question, but chances are, you don't fully understand. For generations, Christians were taught that only the things of the spirit are worthy and righteous. Our flesh was unholy and our only hope was to hold out until we got to heaven.
The thing is, that's not how God sees us. Psalms 139:14 says that "I am fearfully and wonderfully made." God made man in His image. That's pretty awesome when you think about it. God is triune, meaning three in one- Father, Son, Holy Spirit. God made man triune- body, soul and spirit. We are made from amazing dust.
I used to feel badly about my name. Diana is the name of a Roman goddess of the moon. I felt that my name dishonored the Lord. While other people were blessed by what their names meant and saw destiny in the meaning, I never had that. Then one day the Lord said not to feel that way about myself. He told me to feel good about having a connection with the moon. The moon has no source of light in of itself. It is really a giant reflector of the sun. And not a small one - it's big and reflects sunlight to the entire world. After I started blogging, I began to see how I could reflect the Son around the world. It was a wonderful kindness that God showed me.
Once we understand how God sees us, we can be encouraged to be more like Him. It's easy to think that the things that Jesus did are beyond our abilities because we're just weak little selves. But if we walk with the confidence that we are a royal priesthood, a holy nation, we can really do things. Ephesians 3:19 says to be "filled with all the fullness of God." If we are filled with the fullness of God,then we have no right to put ourselves down - that really does dishonor God. He is in us and gave us power and authority on earth to do His will.
You are awesome in His sight, because He sees Himself in you. You can do all things through Christ Jesus. So what are you going to do next?
