When Exactly Are The Prayers Answered?

When you throw a prayer up because you have a need, what do you think the answer will look like? I know it's a bit much, but I kind of hope for angels to appear with a monogrammed, gold-leafed answer straight from the Throne. When my prayers are answered, though, I usually forget to give God thanks because I didn't recognize that He took care of it for me. Unless the answer looks miraculous, I just assume that the situation "worked itself out". I should be thanking God for working the situation for me.

I like to think that I can work through all of my problems, with God's help. If I get stuck, I ask the Holy Spirit to show me how to get unstuck. Many times He will. Sometimes, like today, someone else comes up with the answer. That's OK by me. My problem got unstuck and now I am taking my helper out to lunch to thank her for her help. This gives me the opportunity to spend time with someone that I don't usually socialize with - and that may be the reason that God used her to help me.

If you asked God for help and the problem went away - somehow- give God the credit. Thank Him for moving what ever needed to be moved to give you the help you needed. If the problem didn't get solved, be still and listen. God may be trying to give you what you need. Pay attention to all the random thoughts that come into your head. One of them just might unstick a problem you have. Then give God the thanks He deserves.
