Doing The Happy Dance

What happens when you pray and ask God for something? Don't you wish you could watch that email go into cyberspace and see what happens to it? Does it get date stamped and filed for future reference? Sometimes it feels like it gets stamped "Return To Sender, Address Unknown". But God says to ask Him. What gives?

I think we give up too early and think that the answer is never coming when it just hasn't come yet. God's timing may be perfect, but most of the time it seems like His time is set to slow. We want our answers NOW. He sees what's best for us, and He may wait until we get around to seeing it too.

Sometimes I think He is waiting until we get a better perspective of who He is. He's not Santa Clause sitting on the big chair taking our gift orders. He is a Father wanting to have a relationship with His children. He doesn't want to feel taken advantage of any more than we do. He DOES want to give you your heart's desire. He really does. So if you know that He wants to give it to you, and it is truly your heart's desire, you should be crazy wild when the prayer is answered. The key to getting it answered is becoming crazy wild with thanks before it happens. Acknowledge how great God is and how amazing He is to want to make us happy. And thank Him! Joyfully, like you're already holding the answer in your hands.

OK, so you tried that and you still didn't get your answer. So! You didn't get your answer yet! Is it still your heart's desire? Will you still get crazy wild when the answer comes? Then keep being crazy wildly thankful, for as long as it takes. Be happy baby, the letter's in the mail.
