Like Manna From Heaven

You remember the story. The Israelites found themselves in the desert with no food. Then one day they woke up and this stuff was all over ground. They ate it. It wasn't bad, but they didn't know what it was so they called it manna. Manna means, What is it? Didn't really matter what it was called, they just needed to eat. The thing about it was that you couldn't collect manna to save for later. Day old mana turned moldy and got worms, except for the day before Sabbath, then it would save.

When I started thinking about writing a blog, I wondered what I could possibly write about all the time. A blog needs to be updated regularly, if not daily, to keep current. That's a lot of new stuff to post. I could fill it with an unlimited amount of drivil just to write something, but I didn't want to do that. I wanted to write about significant things. Posts that had meaning. But I still didn't know what that could be. I didn't even have extra manna to try to collect.

God, however, had His own ideas. Turns out that He has lots of ideas. All I have to do agree to write something and He gives me the topic. Apparently He doesn't assume that I need to post something every single day because I don't get a new topic every single day. But then it comes and I know it where it comes from. That's it! I know exactly what the blog is about. My manna. Only enough for one day.

Got your manna today? His word is always fresh, never stale or moldy. The promises may be years in the making, but you keep them fresh by pressing into them. Look around your life and see what the manna is for you. The thing that is new only for today. If you really start to look, you may see something and say, What is that? Wait for it, the answer could be just what you need today. Don't let it go bad because tomorrow it may not be there, but be sure to look again for the new stuff.
