Just Do It!

You may start to notice a common theme with my writing, Just Do It! That's because I've come to realize stuff that I didn't know when I was a new Christian.

I used to look up to older, faithful Christians with great ministries and wonder how they did it. They must be awesome people. Beloved of God. Special. I could never measure up. I couldn't even imagine being on the same page with them. Low Christian self-esteem.

Then one day I woke up to the understanding that God doesn't play favorites. It's just that some people are better at accessing what they already have been given. I always thought that, if I prayed hard and held my tongue right, someday God would bless me with something special. I held out hope for that day. Well, it turns out that I missed it. God gave me all the good stuff the day I received Him as my Savior, I just didn't know it. All those years of waiting to be blessed and all I had to do was take hold of what I'd been given. And there is a lot:

Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. And that's just for starters. He also threw in creativity and aptitude for literature and writing.

I had to understand that He gave it all. All of it. Everything that Heaven has is at my disposal. Now that's awesome! And we're not even talking about healing, wisdom, knowledge, or miracles. Plug into that and now we're talking.

It's easy to look at how Jesus lived and think, "Well, He was the Son of God. Of course, He could live like that." But He expects us to live that way as well because He gave us the same Spirit. It's already in there. We just need to acknowledge it and live it.

Find a quiet place, meditate on the things of God and let Him talk to you about your special gifts, the gifts He gave you so long ago that you've never tapped into yet. What have you got hidden? Let it out!

This is a great idea, and a very good way to encourage each other.

Yes I stepped out to do it. I started teaching about dance and worship and how the two work together. I am working with the youth. I have had amazing favor and a great reception amongst the young people. The vision God gave me is huge and this is just the begining. I was afraid at first, but after taking that first step I realized it's not that hard. Im having great fun. The kids are eager, yes eager to learn. My class is growing and we are running out of room and its only the third week!

I want to train them and send them. Kinda of like of virus, I want to infect them and affect them with Jesus!

That's awesome! When kids start to learn a Spirt-led reality, they get the real thing, without the years of self-doubt that we have.

You should check out the Kindgom Treasures Int'l link on my blog for plutonium strength material on teaching kids the prophetic. (Yes, the writer is my sister and yes I'm biased, but it's still tremendous material.)
