Never Give Up, Never Give In

For all our differences, people really are herd animals. We are so influenced by what the crowd is doing. Peer pressure is real. It takes strength to stand alone, to go against expectations.

Everyone has something they would really love to do, but if goes against expectations, it may never get done. Years go by. Dreams fade. Soon they are forgotten. That thing inside that was such a great idea with so much potential is now dead. Dead dreams create a rottenness in our soul that contributes to anger and frustration. We can be unhappy all the time and not understand why. The infection could be so old we'll never remember the source.

Shakespeare's Polonius had good advice, "To thine own self be true." The dream inside came from God. He knows you better than you know yourself. He knows what would give you the greatest delight. It may take work to get to do it, but don't let it die. There's satisfaction in every step getting there, no matter how long it takes. Don't give up. Don't give in to those who don't understand or who killed their dreams long ago. Stay the course. Only you can make it happen. If your dream comes true, it's because you stayed true to yourself.
