The rainbow says so much. That beautiful refraction of light says:
I promise to always, always love you.
I promise to be with you, always.
I promise to listen to all your venting on your bad days.
I promise to hold you next to me while you sleep.
I promise to give you dreams and visions that will excite you.
I promise to help you find your way.
I promise to always be waiting for you when you come to find me.
And we know that God will never lie. He will never change His mind. He will always do what He says. He'll always be there. Even at a high level, without knowing any personal promises, that's amazing stuff. God's promise to love us unconditionally, forever.
This is an area that I plan to press into - how to understand how much God loves me. I know that I need to work out understanding that without my emotional filter of what love means to me. God will have to help me with that. But that's OK because I know that He loves me and wants me to know how much, so He'll help me get closer to it.
