Want Fries With That?

What if you know in your heart that you are supposed to be a captain of industry, or a musician, or a missionary but right now you're serving fast food? Does is seem like a long, impossible road to get to where you know you need to be? How do you get there?

You follow Joseph. Remember him? Sold into slavery by his brothers then thrown into prison, for a long time. Joseph didn't start off remarkable. He let his mouth get away from him. But he learned. He learned to be excellent, and that's the key.

How did he manage to run the prison, as a prisoner? Because he chose to be excellent at what he did regardless of where he was. What if he didn't? Would he have been in a position to interpret the dreams of the other prisoners that eventually helped him get out? Would he have the skills developed to be Pharaoh's right-hand man if he hadn't conditioned himself for all those years?

You may think that you are spinning your wheels now, that what you are doing bears no resemblance to what you want to do. The thing is, you don't know how you are preparing yourself for your own future. God doesn't make mistakes. Even if you made decisions that sidetracked your own desires, God will still use what you have to lead you into your destiny.

Be excellent. Be the best at what you do, even if no one else notices. God sees it and it pleases Him. Train yourself to always be at your top game. Joseph had the option to rot in prison, but he chose to be excellent and that choice saved a nation. Just imagine what you could do.
